The 5.11 Tactical 71001 724 Dark Navy Ripstop Short Sleeve Shirt looks like something you'd wear to a family picnic, but it’s military-grade. You can add a skull and crossbones if you like, but either way this shirt spells doom for wear and tear.
This classy button-up shirt has a smart collar and a short-sleeve design, so you can wear it everywhere. But it's designed to meet all MILSPEC requirements, the same standards that BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform) must meet for soldiers.
Made with a 6.14 ounce fabric blend, this shirt is engineered with a combination of 65% polyester and 35% cotton rip-stop. Anti-wrinkle polyester dries quickly and wears well even after it's been machine washed. Natural cotton adds breathable comfort. Cotton ripstop literally does that -- stops rips as they begin.
The fabric has been Teflon treated to resist stains and release soil. Tough melamine (plastic) buttons go all the way up to the collar, which you can leave opened or closed to change up your look.
We said this shirt meets MILSPEC requirements, but we didn't mention that it exceeds them -- 5.11 Tactical has added more features. The bi-swing back design gives your arms a fuller range of motion, and of course 5.11 has included their patented hidden document panels for super-secret storage.
Triple-stitch construction was used throughout. Instead of using one thread to make the stitches, 5.11 Tactical used three to triple the durability. Bartacks, which is even more extra stitching, have been added in 26 high-stress areas to prevent wear and tear.
The 5.11 Tactical 71001-724 Dark Navy Ripstop Short Sleeve Shirt is also available in brown, green and black. By any other color, it's always the same durable design.
