These navy shorts are appropriate uniform wear for all types of first responders. Made of a light but sturdy dark navy, 6.14 ounce material, they're comfortable and breathable. The shorts are 65% polyester and 35% cotton that's woven into a ripstop cloth. Ripstop fabric has a special weave that's designed to prevent--you guessed it--ripping, so these are sturdier than your average shorts.
Since most first responders find themselves coming into contact with all sorts of chemicals, oils and other messes, you'll appreciate that these shorts are treated with Teflon so they resist stains and spills.
