Constructed of sage green, oil-, dirt- and water-resistant Wolverine Warrior leather and breathable mesh, these boots quickly dry even in the wettest conditions. Bates designed Wolverine Warrior leather for use by the military. It's some of the toughest leather on the market and is infused with Scotchgard. That treatment makes it oil, stain, and abrasion resistant. And since the boots don't have lots of layers of fabric, they're lightweight.
These Bates boots are low profile and don't have any "extras." But they give you what you need--durability, comfort and support. In order keep your feet cool and dry, the boots are lined with mesh. Underfoot, a molded EVA midsole provides lasting cushion, even after miles of walking. Cushioned, removable inserts also provide extra comfort.
After months in the desert or jungle, most boots and feet feel ragged. To prevent that from happening, Bates inserted a lightweight, performance, shock-absorbing insert into these boots. The cushioned inserts help to absorb and redistribute the shock and energy each step puts your feet through. The boot soles are attached to the bodies with a technique called athletic construction. This uses a very strong adhesive, not stitching, to hold the sole to the boot. The result is a lightweight product. The resultant soles are also flexible and grippy, so you can walk or run in them for miles and not feel weighted down.
