Designed to meet growing non-metallic demands, these black Work Boots from Bates are 100% metal-free making this pair undetectable in electronic security environments. They're crafted with a combination of leather and nylon uppers and a padded ankle collar for outstanding durability and long-wearing, lightweight comfort that lets you do your job without aching feet. You love the speed laces and side zippers that let you slip in and out of them with ease. Cement construction attaches the non-marking rubber outsoles for extra strength and long-wear. The only draw back of both the Bates & Thurogood EH boot is that they are both made in CHINA. So if you have to buy a CHINA made boot might as well buy one from an American company.
I work industrial construction in high security installations and the composite materials protect my feet and I do not have to remove them when passing through metal detectors at security check points like my coworkers with metal toe boots do.
I have recommended the Bates and Thurogood boots to my coworkers and they have bought both and they agree with me the Bates are easier to get on and off.
