These Bates 932 Men's Black Leather Bates Lites Oxford Uniform Shoes aren't just for the Working Man (though who needs great shoes more than he?), but for any man who wants to look great and stay comfortable both on and off the job. Shining black upper leather on these uniform oxfords sets them apart from other uniform shoes, and sets the Working Man who wears them apart as one of discriminating style and taste.
You're the only one who will know just how comfortable these shoes are. Everyone else will be captivated by the sleek, elegant looks of these shoes - but you'll fall in love with what's on the inside. The breathable lining keeps your feet cool and dry even under pressure, and the full-cushioned removable footbed makes cleaning these shoes simple as can be while providing maximum comfort for tired, hard-working feet. The oil- and slip-resistant outsole is non-marking so that no matter what hazards or high-gloss floors you cross, you won't slip up or make an unwanted mark. The man who wears these shoes, however, will leave a lasting stamp on the minds of those he walks past - the lingering impression of a well-shod Working Man sporting the latest in fashion and style.

While marching in a parade, the soles of my white, Bates uniform shoes completely crumbled off from under my feet. When I had them resoled, the shoe maker told me the reason they fell apart was because the soles were synthetic rubber and rotted. Now after buying new soles, the white finish on the upper parts are crumbling off. These shoes at the time were recommended as Navy issue. I hope the Navy is doing a better job of purchasing ships then they are shoes. I would like to know that theses problems have been resolved before I buy a pair of black Bates shoes.
