Little boys rarely grow to manhood without possessing at least one pocket knife. It's practically a rite of passage...a must-have. This Benchmade American-Made 556 SBKOD Mini Griptilian Combo Knife is for the little boy who are all grown up and moved on to bigger and better tools.
The dark, gleaming blade (2.875 inches long) is crafted with American-made 154CM steel, a premium-grade stainless. This rugged steel is highly corrosion-resistant and retains its shape well, which in turn means less time sharpening for you. The 0.115-inch thick blade has a hardness of 58-60 on the HRC scale, making it able to hold its edge well (even after frequent use).
The modified drop point blade is held securely in place with an AXIS locking mechanism. Inside the Benchmade knife, 410 stainless steel liners add more durable quality to the construction. The molded, easy-grip handle is made with Noryl GX, a type of hard, lightweight resin. This Mini Griptilian knife weighs an easy-to-heft 2.56 ounces overall.
The ambidextrous thumb stud opener is easy to use with either hand, while a reversible clip lets you carry your work knife any way you please. Great EDC knife...
The Mini Griptilian is one of the most popular Every Day Carry knives in the market, next to the Spyderco Delica and Endura. This model has American made 154CM stainless steel. It is highly corrosion resistant. I used mine recently on a salt water fishing trip and had no issues. The research I've done on this steel puts it on par with VG-10. So it is a good blade, holds a nice edge and is easy to work with. In the event you can not get a good edge or do not want to mess around with trying to sharpen, just take advantage of Benchmade's LifeSharp service. Just send them your blade, your address, and $5.00 for the first knife ($2.50 for each addtional) and they'll put a factory razor sharp edge back on your blade. That's a tough deal to beat.
