These brave souls wore crude animal skins to keep themselves protected from cold. Luckily, you have Carhartt CMW8201 Men's 8" Steel Toe Boots. Today's animal skins are much, much more refined -- to say nothing of the steel toes.
These 8-inch uniform boots are made with black, oil-tanned leather. By itself, leather is supple and pliable, and so dependable it's been worn by both ancient and modern man. Thanks to oil-tanning, the leather is even more flexible and water-resistant.
The collars are padded for softness, like the OrthoLite comfort tongues. The insoles are also made with cushioning, contouring OrthoLite insoles. The soft insoles comfort feet to prevent pain, absorbing impact before it gets to your feet, legs and joints.
Thin, waterproof membranes protect your feet from wet weather. The direct attach welt construction is secure against rain and moisture, too. The flexible, tough welt stitching secures the PU outsoles to the leather. Shock-absorbent polyurethane resists more force than rubber, but weighs even less. Molded TPU heel counters, thermoplastic polyurethane, with Achilles flex joints keep your heel s stable.
The soles are oil- and chemical-resistant, standing up to common corrosive hazards. Slip-resistance keeps your steps steady even on wet floors. Rated for EH protection, the soles will absorb up to 600 volts of harmful energy to protect you from electrical hazards. The steel toes have been rated ASTM 2413-05 to protect you from compression and falling hazards.
