Made of 6.5 ounce FR knit, this grey work shirt is a blend of 55% modacrylic and 45% cotton. Modacrylic has properties similar to acrylic. Yet, a major difference is that modacrylic is flame-retardant, is slow to ignite, resists burning or melting, and has better heat-resistance compared to acrylic. In addition, modacrylic is quick-drying and stands tough against wear, tear, washing and working, making for the perfect material for a FR shirt. When combined with cotton, this NFPA 70E compliant fire-resistant shirt is comfortably soft, hardworking and exceptionally safe. The long sleeves on this Carhartt shirt give you more complete flame-resistant coverage. Your arms need as much protection as your torso. Keep them protected by wearing long sleeve work shirts.
Durable yet comfortable, side-seamed construction on this FRK294 shirt minimizes twisting and bunching. So you don’t have to keep adjusting yourself (because you’re already busy adjusting other things).
The mid-weight fabric makes this FR shirt a great layering piece. Wear it alone in the fall or spring, or throw on a flame-resistant sweatshirt over it in the winter. The neck and cuffs are ribbed, so they'll lie smooth against your skin. The rib-knit is also durable and will stand tough against repeated wear.
