Made of durable nylon, this black Carhartt jacket has a special water-repellant finish to keep every last drop of water out. It’s been field tested which means people actually tested it in the rain to make sure it delivers on its promises.
The problem with some waterproof jackets is that while they do a good job at stopping the rain from getting in, they also do a good job at making you overheated and feel like you’re suffocating. The breathable membrane on this midweight breathable Jacket allows body heat to leave the garment even as it keeps rain and moisture out. The interior body lining used for the Carhartt waterproof jacket is a 100% polyester mesh, with the sleeves and hood lined in nylon. The nylon is not only incredibly durable, it feels silky-soft against your skin.
If you’re looking for a hardworking waterproof jacket to repel the rain, you might as well go all the way. Don’t just protect your torso, shield your head too. The contoured three-piece hood on this men's Carhartt jacket features an adjustable draw cord to fit more snuggly around your head and is removable. To keep the wind and cold out, the hem is finished with an elastic draw cord. Cinch it tight and keep the nasty elements out.

It really is a durable jacket. I've used it while chopping up firewood while its raining, scraped it across tree bark while looking for wood, and wrinkled it up stuffing it my bag, and the waterproof coating has not seemed to wear off one bit.
It has two sets of drawstrings, one attached to the hood and one by your waist, but helping to keep water out even more.
Most importantly is this jacket's breathability. There are plenty of jackets that will keep water off of you, but this is the only jacket I've found with it's warmth that will not make me sweat.
