Hybrids are increasingly popular these days. Whether it's motor vehicles, utensils, or even our food, there seem to be more and more useful combinations of concepts appearing. You might not have recognized it, but Carhartt has been producing hybrid workwear for awhile now. With their shirt jackets, including Carhartt Men's 101751 029 Shadow Grey Water-Repellent Full Swing Overland Shirt Jacket, you get the best features of a work shirt and men's jacket all in one piece.
This shadow (i.e. dark grey) shirt jacket is made up of a blend of 59% cotton, 39% polyester, and 2% spandex stretch canvas. With this blend of fabrics weighing only 8 ounces, you’re certainly getting the lightweight utility of a men's shirt. Such a lightweight design is made possible by the fact that this blend of fabrics is Carthartt’s trademarked Quick Duck material. Duck material has natural water-repelling capabilities, but to further bolster this Carhartt shirt jacket’s ability to repel water, it's treated this fabric with the brand's special Rain Defender finish. This finish adds water-repellent durability to a Quick Duck fabric that is noted for its tough nature.
Just because this grey jacket might be light like a work shirt, that doesn’t mean it isn't rugged like a work jacket. Quick Duck material is famous for its ability to stretch. Even with that said Carhartt designed this dark grey shirt jacket with their Rugged Flex technology. This technology moves with you throughout the day without sacrificing durability. To make sure you have even more freedom of movement like you would in a shirt, Carhartt added gusseted underarms and a 4-way stretch Flex Elbow. These two features coupled with a bi-swing back (i.e. between the shoulders) that snaps back into place after each movement, will literally allow you to make a “full swing.”
The same durable and water-repellant Quick Duck material with Rugged Flex technology that allows you to make a “full swing,” also showcases the comfort of both a flexible, water-repellent shirt and a jacket. This men's workwear will provide you with the warmth of a Full Swing jacket. Quick Duck material is by itself known to be a material that keeps you warm. But Carhartt one-upped this dark grey piece by lining it with a thermal fleece. Not only will this keep you warm like a work jacket would, it also has the pocket storage you’d associate with one. This features an interior chest pocket on the fleece lining and two front chest pockets with button closure on the outside for added security. In addition, there are two side pockets near the waist to make the total number of pockets for storage five.
We did also mention this has the comfort of a Carhartt shirt. Besides being lightweight, this is designed with button closure cuffs. The button closures on the cuffs gives you the ability to easily roll up your sleeves on the job and make it feel a little more like a comfortable men's shirt. In addition, this Carhartt apparel includes the traditional button up closure of a dress shirt. This closure provides you with the option to wear this undone as a layer on those warmer work days.
Look - sometimes hybrids are not useful whatsoever. But when it comes to this Carhartt Men's 101751 029 Shadow Grey Full Swing Overland Water-Repellent Shirt Jacket from Working Person's Store, we feel you're getting the best of both worlds.
