When you think of something rugged, you probably picture something beat-up. Rugged things are actually just tough things, capable of taking a beating, and maybe that's why they eventually look a little beaten. But these Carhartt CMF6380 Brown Rugged Flex 6-Inch Waterproof EH Composite Toe Men's Boots are made to look good. The fact that they're tough doesn't stop the style at all.
Visible contrast stitching adds detail to the 6-inch uppers of these Carhartt boots. They're crafted from dark brown oil-tanned leather, stern stuff that's made to withstand wear and tear. Oiled leather is more resistant to water than ordinary leather, and it's more flexible. Because it's oiled, the leather of these composite toe boots bends and moves with your steps and it's easy to clean up after a hard day on the job.
And that's just the first layer. Inside, these work boots are built with Storm Defender waterproof technology. Thin membranes block water to keep you dry even in ugly working conditions when you wear these EH boots. While the Storm Defender protects you from rain, the Rugged Flex technology protects you from pain. No less than 5 layers of cushioning absorb impact and soften your stride everywhere you go in these waterproof boots.
The insoles of these men's boots are made with contouring OrthoLite material that follows the natural curves of your feet to soften every inch of your steps. Airy EVA foam midsoles take the sting out of stepping impact. Polyurethane pads soak up shock every time you step down, making it easier for you to keep on stepping.
EVA cups are inserted right into the heels of these safety boots to help you recover energy with every step. The soles are made with shock-resistant rubber that springs back every time you step down. Glued cement construction keeps the soles of these waterproof boots in place with a tough, weather-resistant bond. The soles are resistant to corrosive oil and chemicals, and rated for EH safety. The EH rating means these work shoes resist electrical hazards to keep you safer while you work. Slip-resistance keeps you safer, too, helping you maintain footing in those uncertain situations.
The composite toes meet ASTM 2413-11 standards for impact and compression. They’re non-metallic, so they won’t conduct electricity, but they’re highly capable of protecting your feet. Carhartt CMF6380 Brown Rugged Flex 6-Inch Waterproof EH Composite Toe Men's Boots know how to take a beating, but they will still look great afterwards.

The fit is good, my husband likes the padded insole for comfort. The durability isn't quite as good as he would like. He wears them in the oilfield, in the mud, ice, dirt and chemicals. They usually last less than a year, but still a comfortable boot.

Good quality Leather...
Good quality boot. Fits my feet well. The only complaint I have is the d link eyelet isn't strong enough. The insole needs to be thicker. I use to wear Justin boot, I found this boots are just as comfortable as my Justin boot at $50.00 cheaper.
