This navy, long-sleeved shirt is made with a combination of 55% modacrylic and 45% cotton fibers. Modacrylic is a synthetic material that dries quickly, retains its shape well and resists moths, mildew and damaging chemicals. Best yet, it's also nonallergenic. Combine the toughness of modacrylic with the soft airiness of natural cotton, and you've got a shirt that gives you the best of strength and softness. Sensing a pattern here?
The 6.5 ounce fabric is constructed with a flame-resistant knit design. This shirt is NFPA 70E compliant as a flame-resistant fabric, because there are a lot of dangers your body can stand up to . . . and some it can't. For those dangers your skin isn't made to take, you've got Carhartt. Side-seam construction minimizes twisting and bunching even as you move, bend and stretch.
Tough melamine plastic buttons (also flame-resistant) were used on the three-button front, giving you adjustable neck detailing. The rib-knit collar and cuffs add a snug fit and a clean look, but they also resist fraying for greater durability. To finish it all off, the left chest pocket has a Carhartt label so you know you've got certified workwear.
