This all-around American Made J140 BRN Duck Jacket by Carhartt laughs at the weather (and if you hear it, we'll set up a special appointment for you) while you work in comfort.
Carhartt gives you "first-of-class" quality using a 12 ounce 100% ring-spun cotton outer shell. This is a more expensive process than "open end" spinning, and leaves you with a stronger and more longer-lasting thread. It is pre-treated to be water-repellent (re-treat after washing), so getting soaked in an unexpected shower doesn't have to be part of the job.

Inside, the lining is a quilted polyester flannel around the body, and a quilted nylon lining inside the sleeves. Since nylon is one of the more abrasion-resistant materials, you won't have to worry about your nails, ring or watch ripping it as you pull on you sleeves. And with the layering already in there, you're set for the colder weather without excess bulk to inhibit your movement.
The convenience of an attached flannel-lined hood means you don't always have to be loaded down with extra headgear and earmuffs when you're not sure of the weather. And the drawstring not only helps lock out the chill from your neck, but protects you from the much-feared "hood-flop" problem if when you're facing the wind.
Along with two front hand-warmer pockets, you can stow important stuff in the two inside closeable patch pockets. (We wouldn't recommend chocolate.)
The cuffs and bottom band are rib-knit to seal out the chill, there's a hanger loop for convenience when you come inside, and the front zipper makes it easy to adjust for your inner climate when working hard.
