The shell is constructed of 12-ounce, 100%-cotton Sandstone Duck that is micro-sanded and garment-washed for soft-hand pliability. The arctic weight lining is 100%-nylon that is quilted to polyester. And with a rib-knit collar this vest is a great choice for colder temperatures, so no matter the weather add a few layers and this vest will last you straight through the winter. Just the zipper alone has an inside wind flap and a brass tab that is large enough work with gloves on.

This Carhartt vest also has elastic side tabs at the waist to allow for extra layers, and a 3.5" kidney flap that will extend past your belt, so if you have to bend to reach towards the ground you're not exposing your more tender parts to the weather (or the rest of us). You can warm your hands in the two large quilt-lined front pockets, which also provide lots of cargo space.
