When the heat's on, you want your feet in Carolina's 508 Met Guard Boots. These American Made met guard boots are built to last in harsh conditions like foundry work or heavy welding work.
Those of you who work around furnaces, welding, or other heat-producing sources will appreciate the fact that the soles on these welding boots use Nitrile rubber. This material can withstand temperatures up to peaks of 572 degrees without melting, compared to natural rubber's high of 90 degrees. These Vibram heat resistant soles also provide excellent resistance to oils and solvents, and are long-wearing so you don't have to hit the repair shops that often. Kevlar stitching is used to stitch these outsoles to the uppers which will resist burning or melting in high heat environments and will keep the uppers together on these welding boots.
The full grain Briar Pitstop leather uppers are 6-inches high. This oil tanned leather is great for work conditions, yet the oil makes it comfortable and will work to mold to the shape of your feet for a comfortable and custom fit every time.
The Carolina Boots 508 metatarsal guards are manufactured out of a heavy plastic-dense material with a layer of foam and covered in the oil tanned leather. The leather-wrapped external metatarsal guards and steel toes tested to meet national industry standards.
When you're sweating out a day's work, your foot comfort is important to staying comfortable. A soft Cambrelle lining works like a durable blotter, and can absorb up to 350% its own dry weight before it will feel damp, so sweaty feet are less of a bother. The insoles are made of a lightweight, but very dense, Pillow Cushion foam. Dryz technology is added to wick away moisture and kill odor-causing bacteria, leaving your foot cradled in a soft, dry, cloud of cushioning with every step.
