Full-grain is all-natural, with all the flexibility and softness you expect from the real stuff. The airy construction releases heat and keeps your feet cool, even when you're working hard. But leather is tough, resistant to wind and rain, and ready for any challenge.
The nylon mesh lining is ready to be challenged, too. The abrasion-resistant material stands tough against friction, which will happen every time you put on your boots. EVA foam adds softness. The airy foam cushions your feet, but when you’re not wearing your shoes you can pull it right out for a quick cleaning.
Beneath all the softness, your muscles will be supported with the strength of steel. The shanks fit the natural curve of your arches, giving them a foundation so your muscles can work a little less. More molded EVA foam in the midsole layer adds a core of shock-resistance.

Being a contractor, I have to be a sort of a Jack of all trades. I don't spend eight hours a day on my knees re-shingling old roofs, but I need to be up there to know what's going on. These shoes are perfect for that because the eyelets go down so low that the lacing distributes the tension evenly, so your shoes are as tight as they can be without putting rope burns on your feet. Only thing is that the leather is not quite as tough as the Thorogood roofers, so if your kneeling for an extended amount of time, you risk tearing up the leather eventually. So if you're an actual roofer, and not a tourist like me, you're probably better off with actual roofer boots.
