Converse C449 Women's Composite Toe Leather Athletic Shoes look like tennis shoes, and their name suggests they're made for athletics. But, you can't always judge a shoe by its picture. These low-cut, black athletic shoes are actually Work Boots. . . you just don't know it yet.
White trim pops against the black leather, a material that's already naturally flexible and weather-resistant. The entire design is 100% non-metallic, made with composite toes instead of steel. They won't set off metal detectors, but they will give you ASTM F2413-05 M/I/75 C/75-rated protection against compression and dangerous falling objects. What won't they do? Conduct heat, cold and electricity, the way steel does.
Abrasion-resistant, airy nylon was used in the lining to surround feet in soft strength. Sueded heel counters and dual-density cushion inserts provide soft cushioning. Made with lightweight polyurethane, the insoles are removable so you can clean them. Shock eliminator heel cushions absorb painful foot impact every time you take a step.
A layer of lightweight foam adds even more cushioning in the midsoles. Underneath all this, your steps will be supported by dual-density, non-marking rubber. The static-dissipating soles will resist electric shock buildup that might harm electronic equipment.
