One of Danner’s lightest and most flexible tactical boots, these 8-inch Melee speed boots are 670-1 approved. This means they meet the Army footwear requirements which include: being between eight and 10 inches in height, made of tan, cattle hide leather, with a plain toe and a soling system similar in color to the tan upper materials.
These tan-colored Melee boots feature a unique outsole design. The outsole is constructed with a 360 degree pentagonal low-lug pattern for grip in all directions. That means whichever way you turn your feet are grabbing hold of the ground. A rugged outer lug pattern with molded siping, disperses water and provides maximum surface contact. Danner’s VIA technology provides a V-4 abrasion rubber compound in the medial side arch for fast roping control. What all this comes down to is that these tactical boots meet the need for durability and traction on surfaces in multiple environments. These Melee speed boots are made to take a beating. That’s why they have an abrasion-resistant toe and heel cap for great durability.
These Danner men's boots aren’t only about being rugged and tough. They’re loaded with comfort features too. Inside is a 100% waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX lining which locks out water, but allows sweat vapors to escape, which creates a cool, dry comfort zone inside your shoe. The polyurethane footbed makes it feel like there’s a thin pillow inside your boots.
Negotiating rugged, unstable terrain can quickly take its toll on your feet. The EVA midsole absorbs the shock and stress of rough terrain and has an ESS external coating for abrasion resistance.
