The Dickies TJ334 BK Men’s Black Storm Ripstop Hooded Jacket repels water. It’s made from nylon and polyester - perfect for those drizzly days that are chilly. A DWR, or durable water repellent, finish is added to the fabric to make it water-resistant. Hydrophobic is the scientific term.
Ripstop fabric got its name because of the way it’s reinforced. There are thick threads interwoven in a crosshatch pattern that makes it resistant to tearing or ripping. If you get a tiny hole in the fabric, it won’t get worse. It stays that way because the tougher threads keep the hole from getting bigger. The coat’s durability is ensured because the points that wear fastest are reinforced. The pocketing, hem and elbows have abrasion-resistant panels.
The attached hood is always ready for action, like when there’s a bone-chilling wind blowing. The hem cinch cords keep wind out, and it stays out because of the little devices that lock the cords in place. “The little device” is obviously a highly technical term. The hand warmer pockets zip up when your hands aren’t in them.
Keep your Dickies TJ334 BK Men’s Black Storm Ripstop Hooded Jacket handy for those summer storms that take you by surprise. Well…they take other people by surprise. You’ll be ready with your Dickies coat to keep you warm and dry.
I am a jacket collector and can never seem to find one jacket that does it all. well, this Dickies ripstop hooded jacket does and at a fraction of the cost of other jackets. The thin lining in this jacket makes it thicker and warmer then a softshell jacket, yet still lightweight. I have cleared out my closet for this jacket. With a fleece hoodie underneath I have hiked and camped in Alaska in the teens. This jacket seems to be discontinued now as i search for another one. At the price you pay, I would like to pick up a couple more and store them in different locations. The extra material on the elbow pads give me a secure feeling that this jacket is a tough as it is warm, wind, and water resistant. I coat my jacket with dry spray after I wash it and it has never let me down in the past three years.

Dickies storm jacket...
My wife bought me this Dickies storm jacket and I was very happy with it. . It is very comfortable and I really like how it has the abrasion resistant elbow panels. It protects my elbows from wearing out fast.
Why Choose Working Person? Let Our Customers Explain!
I wanted to let you know how pleased I was with the products and service I received from your company.
I had a short notice request to travel from New Orleans to the Northwest Territories in Canada to inspect an offshore facility out on the sea ice north of the arctic circle. You can't get clothes suitable for that area in New Orleans at any time, and certainly not in April. I called your order line on a Saturday, and your ordering department spent quite a bit of time with me making recommendations and checking to see if the gear was in stock. He made sure that the order was packed for a Monday overnight shipment and I had my clothing by Tuesday afternoon. I left New Orleans on Wednesday morning.
This was a very important project for our company and I want to thank you for your service. I also want to tell you that the great representative you had for your company. I've passed on your name to our organization for other folks that might have to make a trip up North.
Here are a couple of pictures of me in Canada out on the offshore ice. It was -22 C (-8 F) with a pretty good wind (wind chill -32 C / -26 F). The clothes I got from you all kept me warm throughout the 7 hours I spent outside doing my inspection. In fact, as you can see, I didn't even need to zip my jacket. It was a sunny day, which helped.
Finally, the gloves you see in the pictures are not the ones I ordered from you. Your gloves were fine, and I used them when I wasn't physically working, but the work I was doing required a leather glove for hand protection. I procured a pair of thinsulate leather work gloves in Inuvik that worked great and were a good balance between insulation, protection, and manual dexterity. I don't have them at work with me, but if you are interested I can look at the tag and send the brand information on to you.
