The black uppers of these Dr. Martens boots are stylishly designed in a hiker boot style, but they're way more than just pretty leather. That black material on these steel toe boots is actually industrial greasy leather, a full-grain leather that's fully water-resistant, making for a fine pair of waterproof boots. It's been oiled for added toughness, and the smooth finish is certainly nice to look at. Full-grain is probably best known not for looks but for flex. It bends, it stretches, and it moves -- but it takes a whole lot of wear to wear out full-grain leather boots.
Inside, the Smartmask footbeds used on these steel toe boots will softly absorb shock to keep your steps comfortable. Made with shock-resistant polyurethane, the footbeds absorb force so you don't have to feel it in your feet and joints. Lightweight EVA foam was compression-molded into the midsoles, adding another soft layer to protect your steps while wearing these Dr. Martens boots.
Cement construction was used to glue the GNB soles directly to the leather uppers of these heat-resistant Dr. Martens boots. Constructed with Nitrile rubber, the outsoles are heat-resistant up to 300 degrees C (572 degrees F). Made with a heavily-cleated tread pattern, the slip-resistant soles help you find grip even on wet, slick floors. Oil- and abrasion-resistant protection guards the soles against corrosive chemicals and other workplace hazards. To complete the cushioning design of these heat-resistant boots, EVA foam was added to the forefoot and heel strike area to soften your steps.
