Our mid-weight Filson 64003 DY Unisex Dark Gray Merino Wool Crew Socks are made from Merino wool, nylon, recycled polyester and spandex. Each ingredient works with the others to create perfectly balanced socks that are warm, comfortable, durable and stay in shape.

They’re made using Dimensional Knitting Technology so there aren’t any bumpy toe seams to drive you crazy. Bumpy toe seams aren’t nice. They attack you and cause abrasions without any warning. Dimensional Knitting’s pretty nifty. Of course, they aren’t the same knitting needles that were used in 250 A.D. to knit the first sock. Yes, knitting‘s been around that long. Modern needles look like space-worthy arms. The high-tech knitting is accomplished with a complex computer program to make the arms work.

Filson 64003 DY Unisex Dark Gray Merino Wool Crew Socks have a thick, cushioned sole for comfort. There’s mesh stitching over the instep to add breathability. The toes and heels are reinforced for durability. Modern socks are much better than 2000 year-old socks.
