Pull the Filson Tan 14023 TN Double Tin Chaps with Leg Zippers up over your work pants to protect yourself against the worst of weather and nature. Water, wind, ice, thorns and everything else you don't want on your legs will be held at bay by this tough garment.

These chaps are made with Filson's tin cloth, so named for its toughness. Don't worry -- it's not really tin. The chaps are constructed from 12.5 ounce, 100% cotton duck that's been specially oiled-finished for water repellency and toughness. The tough, woven cotton cloth is soaked in paraffin wax that softens the more you wear it. Clean the chaps by brushing them off, don't put them in the washer.

There are two straps on each leg that slide under your belt, and one strap on either side of the belt loop to keep these chaps from twisting and bunching. Use the snaps to adjust the straps for a perfect fit. The straight-cut legs are finished with a 14-inch brass zipper and heavy-duty snap closures, so you can pull them over your work boots. Storm flaps cover the zippers to block wind and water.

A double layer of fabric near the bottom of each leg creates twice the durability. Twill binding prevents fraying around the hems. Felled seams, the flat seams that are usually used in jeans, are double-stitched for additional toughness.
