Filson also tested their Feather Cloth fabric for its Ultraviolet Protection Factor. The UPF is a rating for apparel, similar to the SPF ratings you find on sunscreen. This taupe shirt has a UPF rating of 50+, the maximum rating possible. Just like sunscreen, it blocks harmful UVA and UVB rays so your skin stays protected from the sun's beating rays.
