First, there's the DuraShocks technology that is comprised of compression pads built in the heel and forefoot of the shoe which compress under pressure to absorb shock and stress; the tread design gives a high surface area of contact and channels liquid away from the surface to increase traction; and the 90 degree heel provides "bite" in the walking motion. And, all that really means, in two words, is comfortable safety; that's safety from the possibilities of slipping and falling and guaranteed comfort from the ground up.
Let's talk comfort. Made of lightweight dual-density construction, the sole weighs one-third as much as rubber, yet absorbs four times the force working to dissipate forces right where they hit, before reaching the feet and legs.(That means way less wear and tear on the legs, feet, back and spine!) The sole is also oil and slip-resistant to prevent possible falls.
Another technological and unique feature of this work boot is the composite toe. Replacing the usual steel toe found in safety boots, Wolverine has used a composite material which is 33% lighter and is less conducive of heat and cold. The guaranteed waterproof AND breathable Gore-Tex lining found in these boots is guaranteed to keep your feet dry. (Which, by the way, is guaranteed to be waterproof for a year.)
