It's a light weight (1.6 lbs) boot, but a tough boot. The full grain leather uppers are designed to stay tough, yet very soft to mold to the shape of your feet for a great fit. The soft Dri-Lex lining around the ankles not only keeps the boots comfortably fit to your ankles, but also applies excellent moisture wicking which means your feet will stay dryer and cooler.
Even if you have to work in the "muck" all day, the Goodyear welt constructed dual density outsoles are slip-resistant, ESD rated, and a fiberglass shank promises added arch support. The outsole is built on what is called a rocker last. What that means is that the outsole shape is designed to give forward thrust as you walk. This is an especially great advantage if you job calls for you to walk a lot.
For this USA Made Work One steel toe boot to be marketed as Electric Static Dissipating Footwear, it had to pass testing requirements established by ANSI. Footwear classified as SD Type I must offer electrical resistance greater than 1, but less than 100 megohms. Electro Static Discharge or ESD is the shock that is felt when a person walks across a carpet and touches a door knob and a discharge of electricity occurs between that person and the door!
