Since the company was founded in 1837, the name John Deere has stood for quality and reliability. This means not only quality farm equipment but quality leathers, apparel and a variety of boots including Work Boots. The John Deere JD8373 Men's 8-inch Safety Toe Internal Met Guard Work Boots are a classic example of the quality craftsmanship featured in all John Deere products.
The John Deere JD8373 Work Boots feature an 8-inch dark brown, tumbled and oiled full-grain leather upper with the company log embossed on the side and a fabric logo at the top of the tongue. The lacing system features solid brass hooks and eyelets set with stainless steel washers. The lace-up style allows you to customize the fit and gives you great ankle support. The soft, high-abrasion, moisture wicking lining has received an Agion Antimicrobial treatment. An antimicrobial treatment will help you avoid such nasty, itchy problems as fungal infections like athletes foot.
The internal flexible metatarsal guard meets the ASTM Standards, while the safety toe meets the ASTM standards as well. The JD8373 Work Boots also are Electrical Hazard Rated and will protect you from shocking experiences. The tempered-steel shank will give you support and protect the tender underside of your foot.
John Deere attaches the heat-resistant combine II rubber sole to the upper using the Goodyear Welt technique. The Goodyear Welt technique is durable and repairable/replaceable increasing the lifespan of the JD8373 Work Boots. The sole is slip- and oil-resistant as well.

I am a crane technician and climb into the air sometimes on my feet for better than 12 hours a day. Several of my customers require met guard steel toe boots. A friend of mine suggested these John Deere boots because he liked them. I found that these boots are for the most part are comfortable but takes awhile to break in because of the leather being so stiff. I used mink oil on the leather to help in softening the leather in a more evenly and shorter time frame. I also used a pair of in insole lines to soften the insides due to being on my feet for long periods of time. After I did these extra things I found that the John Deere boots held up quite well. I would recommend these met guard boots to anyone that has to be on their feet for long periods of time. I also would say they have held up quite well under harsh environments including wet and dry conditions. Several of my customers require met boots and I found these to meet and exceed these requirement. I would say these boots are quite stylish..... good looking pair of work boots.
