It's about time someone made a work boot with these features. The Thorogood Shoes 804-4132 Steel Toe Wellington Internal Met Guard is loaded with features to give you convenience, protection and value. This steel toe work boot is built to be the real deal.
Thorogood uses Kevlar stitching to keep the full grain leather uppers together. Kevlar will resist burning so weld and work all of the overtime you want because these work boots are made to handle it. The Vibram 582K outsoles are heat resistant as well, so you can step on slag and not worry about it burning through the outsoles on these work boots. And, yes, Thorogood Shoes uses Kevlar thread to stitch these outsoles to the uppers. They go one step further by using a reinforcement stitch for security. Just a heads up that these wellington boots have fiberglass shanks in the soles.
Let's talk safety. The steel toe caps and patented I-Met metatarsal guards used in these work boots are ASTM F2413-05 M/I/75/C/75 approved. These boots will meet your company's approval for safety so you don't have to worry about getting reimbursed for these boots. These Thorogood boots are also rated for Electrical Hazard so you will be protected in the event you come into contact with an open circuit.
