Nautilus Boots: Men's Brown N1512 EH Steel Toe Met Guard Hikers

You don't want to wear "elephant feet" to make sure your dogs are protected on the job, so Nautilus Safety Footwear built these Nautilus Men's Brown N1512 EH Steel Toe Met Guard Hikers to give you a better lighter duty metatarsal guard option.

The full-grain (sturdiest) leather uppers feature an updated look that includes several safety features. Your toes and metatarsal areas are guarded with a flexible, hinged construction to meet national industry standards for compression and impact. The steel toes used in these safety toe boots have been tested and meet or exceed ASTM F2413-11 I/75 C/75 standards. Along with the steel toes, the met-guard boots also meet or exceed the same standards for metatarsal safety. Being rated for Electrical Hazards, these Nautilus Hikers will also protect you if you accidentally brush against a live wire delivering up to 600 volts under dry conditions. And lastly, the electrical hazard rating for these steel toe boots additionally meets or exceeds the ASTM F2413-11 Section 5.5 requirements. (Of course, despite these injury-reducing features, we still recommend you watch where the heck you're going!)

The soles are non-marking, so you can enter more "civilized" areas of your workplace or on a service call without worrying about scuffing the floor. These metatarsal hiking boots are also oil and slip-resistant, so you won't make a fool of yourself at the same time by leaving the vertical unnecessarily. If you work in a foundry or around incredibly hot materials, you'll appreciate that these rubber soles can withstand temperatures over 3 1/2 times that of boiling water. These met guards are not a very good option for heavy welding or foundry conditions.

The issues of foot comfort and foot fatigue are addressed with a padded tongue and collar, water-resistant leather, and a reinforced heel counter so your foot doesn't slide around and get irritated. A removable Athletech footbed and cushion midsole help absorb foot shock to give you a more spring in your step, and the Taibrille lining wicks away moisture from sticking to your feet. These metatarsal hikers are ergonomically designed in an effort to provide you a better fitting work hiker.

Weighing in at just over 3 pounds, these Nautilus Footwear N1512 EH Steel Toe Met Guard Hikers are made for work. Choose WorkingPerson.com for these work hikers, try 'em on and feel the difference.

The all black version of these shoes are actually widely used as umpire plate shoes. I have been using them for over 7 years to umpire in and I love them. I'm on my second pair and have no plans to switch.

My grandson was scared of grandpa's shoes, it was really funny. But why I am writing is to let you know that the met guard on this shoe saved my husband from serious injury on the job. It sure is worth having extra safety features on work shoes.

I would not hike in these boots, but I bought them for working around steel frames that we construct. They look weird, but they are very comfortable.

Why Choose Working Person? Let Our Customers Explain!

I wanted to let you know how pleased I was with the products and service I received from your company. I had a short notice request to travel from New Orleans to the Northwest Territories in Canada to inspect an offshore facility out on the sea ice north of the arctic circle. You can't get clothes suitable for that area in New Orleans at any time, and certainly not in April. I called your order line on a Saturday, and your ordering department spent quite a bit of time with me making recommendations and checking to see if the gear was in stock. He made sure that the order was packed for a Monday overnight shipment and I had my clothing by Tuesday afternoon. I left New Orleans on Wednesday morning. This was a very important project for our company and I want to thank you for your service. I also want to tell you that the great representative you had for your company. I've passed on your name to our organization for other folks that might have to make a trip up North. Here are a couple of pictures of me in Canada out on the offshore ice. It was -22 C (-8 F) with a pretty good wind (wind chill -32 C / -26 F). The clothes I got from you all kept me warm throughout the 7 hours I spent outside doing my inspection. In fact, as you can see, I didn't even need to zip my jacket. It was a sunny day, which helped. Finally, the gloves you see in the pictures are not the ones I ordered from you. Your gloves were fine, and I used them when I wasn't physically working, but the work I was doing required a leather glove for hand protection. I procured a pair of thinsulate leather work gloves in Inuvik that worked great and were a good balance between insulation, protection, and manual dexterity. I don't have them at work with me, but if you are interested I can look at the tag and send the brand information on to you.
