Thorogood 804-6026 Men's Steel Toe Station Boots don't look like your average work boots. There's no complex lacing system, no sharp metal, nothing but a simple sweep of smooth leather. Well, that and all the safety features you'll find stuffed inside.
These all-black, ankle high beauties are made with full-grain, oil-tanned leather. Full-grain leather is resistant to wind and weather, and the oil-tanned treatment adds more water-resistance. Stretchy, elastic gore panels create a snug, comfortable fit that needs no laces. Pull straps make it easy to get the boots on and off.
Inside, non-woven nylon covers the interior of each boot. The abrasion-resistant nylon surrounds feet in a ventilating, breathable shell. Lightweight, shock-resisting polyurethane absorbs striking impact. The insoles are also removable and easy to clean. Another layer of polyurethane in the midsoles doubles the cushioning power. The insoles are puncture-resisting, protecting you against nails and other workplace hazards.
Engineered composite shanks, made without metal, support heels and arches to prevent muscle strain. Direct injection construction joins the non-marking TPU outsoles to the leather. TPU, thermoplastic polyurethane, gives feet a shock-resistant, well-supported base. The soles are rated for electrical hazard resistance and electro-static safety. They'll absorb up to 600 volts of electricity, and 18,000 volts of electrical shock. By resisting electrical shock, the soles won't hold a lot of static energy that may harm electronics.
The steel toes are ASTM 2413-05 M/I/75/C/75 approved for resistance to impact and compression, to keep your feet safe in the face of falling hazards.
