The soles feature a Goodyear Welt construction, which makes them extra durable and tough. In Goodyear Welt construction, the upper fabric, lining and sole are sewn together for added durability. A welt is then stitched to the boot upper, insole and lining in one single operation. The outsole is then stitched to the bottom of the welt. These wellington work boots are made to last, and as long as the uppers remain sound, it makes sense to re-sole a pair of worn welted boots by sewing new soles to the existing welt.
