The removable full-length polyurethane footbed adds cushion and support, along with the EVA compression-molded midsoles. And the composite shank gives arch support and reduces muscle fatigue.
The gravity rubber outsole on this Oxford is surrounded with an integrated toe bumper and molded rubber heel stabilizer. The heel to toe bumper provides durability, support and protection, while the outsole keeps you grounded and sure-footed. These shoes also have a 150 MBS Abrasion rating, an ASTM-rated composite toe and an Electrical Hazard rating. Nice soft suede leather.
I got these because of the composite shank and toe, the rubber toe bumper and wrap around heel.
I prefer a composite shank and toe instead of steel.
Composite is easier on the feet and it doesn't set off metal detectors and security scanners.
The toe & heel bumpers work great for kicking - pushing - supporting stuff, which i do alot of at work.
I have the Oxfords & the Sport Hikers.
Both are great work shoes & every day wear shoes!
