Bates Boots: Mens Waterproof Hiking Boots 3640 With Vibram Soles
Bates 3640 Men's Brown Lace-Up Hiker Boots are lightweight to reduce strain on your back, legs and feet. You’ll be less fatigued when you hit the summit. While this is the politically correct reason for getting a pair of Bates lightweight hikers, there’s another reason. When you reach the top, you’ll be able to run rings around your friends – literally. Serious hikers are a bit competitive.
The lace-up styling allows you to adjust the snugness. Feet can gain or lose water while you’re hiking. It’s important to be able to adjust your boots so they’re comfortable and still supportive. Look at your friends’ feet when you take a break. They probably have those little ridges that match the inside of their boots. But not you, your feet are in great shape because you adjusted the laces when no one was looking. And clean, too--the insoles are removable for cleaning.
They’re waterproof, too. The Gore-Tex liners keep your feet dry, even on rainy weekends. The cement construction adds a secondary water barrier. Lead the way through a few puddles and you’ll see why this is so important. Remember to hide the little smirk when you tell your friends that you can wait while they dry out their socks.
The slip-resistant Vibram Mutant Rubber outsoles are extra tough. They’re for terrain even the bravest explorers wouldn’t venture into without Bates 3640 Men's Brown Lace-Up Hiker Boots. Well, your friends would, but they’re not quite as smart as you are. By the way, Bates' hikers are made in the U.S.A.

weight of item...
I am sorry but these are NOT lightweight boots! On the contrary. They are EXTREMELY heavy for what they are calling lightweight. Bates says they weigh 48 oz total (which by the way is NOT light for a "lightweight boot" but personally I believe they weigh more than that. If you don't believe me go ahead and purchase them and find out for yourself but don't forget it's going to cost you a lot to find out the hard way.
