An internal Gore-Tex bootie surrounds your feet in a waterproof, breathable barrier. The Gore-Tex membranes in these Timberland Boots keep external water from creeping in while still allowing sweat vapors to pass through. Timberland has designed this work boot with their B.S.F.P. Motion Efficiency System. Designed to support every step you take in these hiking boots, exclusive technology delivers improved traction and long wearing performance.
During every activity your foot moves in a predictable way. To counter these movements Timberland devised a system of lugs on the sole. For support they put lugs under the arch of the foot to increase the stiffness of the outsole between the heel and ball of the foot for stability and support. There are primary flex grooves located behind the ball of the foot with secondary flex grooves in the toe area that move with your natural motion. This combination promotes flexibility and slip-resistant footwear, where you need it most.
Two additional components that this system has prepare you for braking and propelling. To help brake the foot and increase traction when ascending and descending in these Timberland hiking boots, there are leading edged lugs toward the front of the shoe. Located in the rear of the shoe are the same lugs to help you push off and propel yourself when accelerating and climbing. This strategic design keeps you in control in almost any conditions.

Pass as work boot. As long as you don’t step on a nail, the Gore-Tex lining will keep out water
and last the life of the boot. Boots will most often out last the laces, depending on your usage.
As another has stated, I to; “am afraid Timberland will discontinue them”
Most work boots are painful to wear and you may be wearing them, standing, climbing, and working up to 12 hour days! These are necessary for me in such times because they fit very good.
