This ruggedly made workgear shows a 9" black (yeah, we know you know that-just testing!) smooth full grain oil tanned leather upper for a combination of structure and softness. Full-up laces use a series of hooks above the flex-point to allow easier and quicker on-and-off while allowing a more forgiving fit as you move. The Gear Box Boot 8020 features Goodyear Welt construction using a special waxed yarn to stitch together the upper fabric, lining, and sole creating a single unit for added durability. This makes it virtually impossible to lose the sole, which is then moisture and chemical-resistant, and is easy to repair. We might also add that this type of construction give you the best lateral stability (watch those ankles on those branches!) of all boot types because the outsole is wider than the boot. The rubber sole itself includes the heel in one piece for protection against stress breakage, and is resistant to oil.
The inside of this Gear Box Boot is fully lined with Cambrelle, the only non-woven lining in the world approved by the American Podiatric Medical Association. Not only does this fabric wick moisture away from your foot, but its mesh allows the lining to conform to the constant motions of your foot to prevent chafing. The Poron insole offers lightweight cushioning and excellent resistance to compression so foot shock is minimized consistently without the footbed wearing down so fast like those made with other materials. Plus, anti-microbial and bacterial protection stops the growth of odor-causing bacteria.
