The Impacto Kanga Tuff Black Lace-Up Unisex METGUARD are tough as nails and will keep your feet safer from falling objects. They’re designed to protect the toes and the upper foot, called the metatarsal. This personal protection device can withstand up to a 75-pound impact and won’t conduct electricity or heat. They are made with a polycarbonate material that weighs 10-ounces and measures 5 inches by 4 inches. They’re easy to put on. Just place them on top of your boots and pull your laces through the holes. Done. Pretty easy to get good metatarsal protection, isn’t it?
They were engineered for people who work in dangerous areas. But even if you don’t work around heavy machinery, you can still be hurt from falling objects. Take Gus, this guy in our office. Among his many talents, he has the ability to drop pretty much anything. The best story about Gus’ talents is the file cabinet incident.
To make a long story short, Gus helped move a file cabinet and, yes, boom. On his foot. The cast wasn’t that big, but he whined a lot. Now our boss requires Gus, and anyone working near him, to wear Impacto Kanga Tuff Black Lace-Up Unisex METGUARD. To be totally honest, though, they don’t look all that great over high heels. One size fits all, even Gus.

When snowboarding, I have always had an issue with riding the lift up the mountain with my snowboard hanging from just one foot. It always felt fairly uncomfortable to me - by the time I reached the top of the mountain my foot (and sometimes leg) would be asleep. I started resting my board on my free boot which alleviated this issue, however it also led to the board's edge chopping up my boot and my laces.
I managed to attach this to the top of my boot after some fiddling and it has worked wonderfully so far at protecting both my boot and my laces from the sharp edge of my board. I would definitely by another to replace it on my next pair of boots!
