The Danner 29110 Fort Lewis Military Boot is another of our favorites. Look at the construction used in this boot. Since 1932 Danner has been practicing the art of boot making and they have never deviated from the professional methods they know work.
Danner's 29110 Fort Lewis Military Boot is designed for warmer climates. The leather upper has no insulation, and is lined with Cambrelle. It has a GoreTex liner that will keep moisture out of the boot, just like skin, letting moisture out, but keeping your foot dry-and is guaranteed waterproof for one year. This military boot has a fiberglass shank, airthotic footbed, and Danner stitchdown sole. The boot upper is actually stitched to the insole with heavy thread, resulting in an extremely secure, durable attachment. The benefit to you? Because the boot upper is flared out and then stitched securely to the insole board, your foot rests on a wider, and thus more stable, platform. The upper/insole unit is then cemented to the outsole, enabling the boots to be easily re-soled. This boot features a Vibram148 Kletterlift oil- and slip-resistant outsole. The center star lug pattern and the perimeter lugs deliver a great combination of traction and stability.
