These tall, tan combat boots are made in a classic military desert style. Fashioned of 1,000 denier Cordura nylon panels and water-resistant leather, they withstand the worst. The abrasion-resistant nylon has been coated with PTFE, more commonly known as Teflon, for flame-resistance and durability. The leather used for these Rocky boots is water-resistant and made to resist fire hazards, a design made to withstand the rigors of sea-to-land warfare.
Fabric instep panels prevent rope burn, so feel free to climb away. These duty boots are made with drainage vents that move water out and away, preventing debris as well as moisture from getting to your feet. The channels do allow air to flow, ventilating your feet to keep them cool.
An Aegis microbe shield guards your feet from bacterial and fungal growth. To further protect feet, these American Made boots are lined with Dri-Lex. The wicking material pulls moisture away from skin, keeping you dryer. Stretchy Lycra tongues are made to fit snugly against the tops of your feet, preventing debris from getting inside the military boots.
Polyurethane midsoles provide a layer of shock-absorbing comfort and support. On top of this, airport cushion footbeds soften your step. The perforated cushions allow air flow to reach even the bottoms of your feet.
Proprietary high-walled Vibram soles on these vented boots support your every step. The tough Vibram tread gives you gripping traction on almost any terrain. The standard issue Army boots are horrible to be worn outside Garrison in my opinion. Too heavy and just not very comfortable after a few hours of walking around, plus they take forever to break in. Unless you're a pogue who spends all day in S-1 pushing papers, I'd highly recommend these bad Rocky boots. S2V's got me through Air Assault School and made the final twelve-mile hump a breeze. Be forewarned though, while these boots are comfortable, they wear down fast. I think mine only lasted me 6 or 7 months, if that.
“I have just taken delivery of my Thorogood Unisex boots and I wanted to tell you how satisfied I am with them. I haven't used them in the in the snow yet but I feel certain they will work out fine. They are just the type of footwear I've been looking for. They have saved me from having to pay hundreds of dollars for foul weather boots and they are very convent to store and use. If I may....some advice: The catalog description makes no mention of the fact that they are overshoes. That's the reason I had to exchange them for size. Had I known they were overshoes I would have ordered the correct size to start with. Also, having to become a member to order be able to track my order was not made known to me until I filed a complaint. I must say that the exchange process was smooth and easy. Now that I know how to navigate the website I'll probably be looking to order from you in the future. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
