We know you're dying to read about the battery-powered heating system in these socks, but let's first look at the socks themselves. Made from a blend of 36% wool, 33% winter acrylic, 22% Hollifil polyester and 9% nylon, these socks are good to go even when you're out of batteries. The wool naturally wicks away moisture, helping you stay dry and comfortable and the Hollofil polyester is made to provide exceptional warmth. The Acrylic and nylon make these socks tough and easy to slip on and off.
The socks may be great on their own but they really shine with the battery-powered heating system. Well, they don't literally shine (thank goodness), but they will keep your feet perfectly warm for hours. And don't worry about your feet overheating. The heating system is designed to keep your feet at a perfectly comfortable warm temperature. To use, just slip two D batteries into the pouch and snap it closed. To turn the heating system off, just remove the batteries. Two fresh D batteries can provide five to six hours of warmth and rechargeable batteries can provide two to three hours.
And for those of us who work in wet conditions, there's no need to worry about getting any unexpected shocks from these socks. The low amperage virtually eliminates any possibility of shocks or burns, even when the socks are wet.
Unfortunately, these socks aren't for everyone. People with diabetes, extreme circulatory problems or sensitivity to the application of direct heat to the skin's surface should not use this product. If you have any questions, please consult your physician before using these socks.

“I bought a pair of the waterproof, insulated, 12 in. Georgia Boots to wear in the massive underground (UMWA) Harris coal mine in Boone Co., West Virginia. As a union fireboss, I walk at least 5 miles a night 300+ feet underground through some of the worst conditions anywhere. After 27 years and at 4 different Eastern Coal Corp. mines, these are the best boots I've ever worn. Thanks for making my job more bearable and comfortable, as comfort is a hard thing to find in coal mining.
