First, they're 70 % Merino wool. Wool is the original easy care fiber. It can absorb as much as 30% of its own weight in moisture before it begins to even feel damp. Merino wool in particular is excellent at regulating body temperature, especially when worn against the skin. Merino is one of the softest types of wool available, due to finer fibers and smaller scales. Merino has anti-bacterial properties which cause the fabric to resist smells produced by sweating.
These socks are 18% nylon, a strong, versatile, hard wearing fiber. Nylon is often used with other fibers to give added stretch and durability. Now add 11% Acrylic fibers to keep colors brighter and more brilliant than their natural fiber counterparts. After all, who wants to wear dull-colored socks? Spandex is only 1% of this magical,warm socks formula, but just 1% of this man-made fiber provides elasticity, recovery and a close fit, primarily in the legs of the socks to hold them in place, and in the arch and ankle to provide extra support.
