Bates Boots: Women's Waterproof Insulated Boots 2704

Updated review after about 3 months in these boots.......

Well, I was really happy when I first got these boots. Now, after about 3 months of constant use and abuse, I am happy to report that they are holding up beautifully. They are showing no signs of the abuse I put them through on a typical shift. They don't scuff like my old boots and I have yet to polish them. I just wipe off the mud or snow and they look like new. They are still warm and comfy and grip ice like nothing else I've worn!

Since I got them I have worked a lot of my 10 hour shifts in real cold sub zero weather, down to around -36 degrees. My toes never, ever got cold and I never wore extra heavy socks, just my normal boot socks.

Now that all the snow is melting and there are puddles and water everywhere, I've really put them to the test for water resistance. Tonight I stepped out of my cruiser into a puddle that came up over the top of the toe of the boot, and not one drop of water leaked in.

I'm pretty thin and my ankles have always been a bad spot for boots to rub. These don't rub at all. There's enough cushion built into the boots, and they're well made.

They're as comfortable today as they were when they were new.

These boots are the best money I've spent on equipment in my 7 years on the street. Would I recommend them? Absolutely!

I have worn out two pairs of patrol boots in my tenure on the street. I did a lot of research before settling on the Bates M9's, and am I ever happy with them! I wore them yesterday with no break-in period for a 10 hour shift on the street in snow and near 0 temps, my feet felt great and warm even though I was outside most of the day. Another busy 10 hour shift today in the snow, same result. The size runs true, and even though I usually prefer a narrow size, these boots do not slop around like others I've worn. (Magnums)
They are great for snow and ice, I can run, drive, and stand around directing traffic without discomfort and these boots do not leak! I'd recommend these boots to anyone. They are extremely comfortable, warm and dry. Now if I could just find a good pair of gloves, I'd be set.

I am a TSA security officer on my feet constantly for 8 hour shifts at the airport. I didn't realize the abuse my feet were taking in regular dress shoes until I wore these Bates boots for the first time. These boots are so, so comfortable--never any foot fatigue. There was no break in period, no blisters to contend with, these are the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. And not just on the job--I wear them everywhere. Being waterproof and insulated, they are great for shoveling snow, walking the dog, and wearing to football games. They run true to size but I did go up 1/2 size to accomodate thick socks.
