Thorogood Women's EH Internal Met Guard Hiking Boots are so comfortable, you might decide to sleep in them. They're not only comfortable enough to carry you through a day at work, they provide lift and support for your feet when trekking over rugged terrain. After wearing these boots for a few days, you might not want to take them off.
The first thing you notice about these Thorogood boots is their attractive, dark brown, full-grain leather upper trimmed with black. Inside you'll find black suede leather inserts and a napa leather collar upper. The padded collar surrounds and protects your ankles and helps keep your socks from chafing.
These boots are more than a pretty face though. Their durable rubber soles have a 90 heel outsole. That means that a 90-degree angle is formed between the heel and boot sole. Inside, they have a compression-molded, Polyurethane midsole. Polyurethane is a foamed structure that contains air bubbles. It's a great insulator, so will keep your feet warm, but has excellent breathability, so helps keep your feet from perspiring. Polyurethane also provides give and support, making it an excellent material for footwear. On top of the midsole, you'll find a full-length, removable, dual-density polyurethane Shock Zone insert with Air Flow vents to provide complete cushion for your feet and added breathability.
These hiking boots also have a surprisingly large number of safety features. They're Electrical Hazard rated, meaning that they're specially designed to reduce hazards due to contact of the sole with electrically energized parts. They provide a secondary source of protection against accidental contact with charged parts under dry conditions, since they're tested for and meet the CAN/CAS-Z195 18,000 Volts Electric Shock Resistance Standard. A steel toe met guard protects your toes and metatarsals from impacts from above.
