The six inches of waterproof full grain leather support for your ankles is only the beginning. An ASTM-rated steel toe protects you from falling objects and oblivious drivers while an Electrical Hazard rating means you don't have to worry about stepping on open circuits up to 600 volts under dry conditions. Those wet areas on the ground will pose little problem for you with politely non-marking slip- and oil-resistant soles made by Vibram Vibram, of course, is the benchmark for lightweight traction and durability.
The Durashocks comfort system relies on a combination of lightweight shock-absorbing elements, such as the aforementioned Vibram outsole, cushion pads in the heel and forefoot to absorb foot shock, and a removable dual-density closed-cell footbed with special rubber-like pads (elastomers, if you want to get fancy) in critical areas to prevent foot fatigue.
