Customer Reviews For Georgia Boots: Men's Steel Toe Renegade Work Boots G6303
The sole is very firm rubber which has turned out to be quite durable. This sole offers good traction in loose materials, however doesn't absorb much shock on concrete. The cushy insole helps a great deal (along with appropriate socks).
Sturdy brass eyelets accent the appearance, and a padded collar enhance comfort even more.
Very tough, good fitting boot.
Positive aspects include a fit which is very true to size. I never had any problem with the steel toe crowding my own toes, or any other aspect related to how well they fit.
They seem to be very well made, with quality materials and flawless workmanship.
The interior is lined with a woven synthetic material which absorbs perspiration.
The sole is made of a very firm, abrasion resistant rubber, and hasn't worn out on my boots yet. I've even been able to unseat the bead on automobile tires by laying the wheel on the floor and bouncing on the tire with my heels.
If there is a downside, it is that this durable sole doesn't absorb much shock. There is a cushy insole which helps some, but working on a concrete floor can still be fatiguing. I work in a locomotive shop which is over 400 feet long, and walk several miles a day on their unyielding floor.
In fairness, I should note that I only experience discomfort for a few moments when standing up from lunch to return to work.
The rest of the time, they are fine, and I don't think about them.
My favorite sole for boots is the Vibram "Kletterlift" used on some Danner (Mountain Light) and Carhartt boots (models 3924 and 3726).
If this boot had the Kletterlift sole, it would be nearly perfect.
As it is, the Georgia 6303 is still one of the most durable, and one of the better fitting steel toe boots I've yet worn.
I have had to return two recent pairs of the above boots because of painful pressure points created by the multiple layers of leather sewn together at the point where the upper meets the boot tongue. In both pairs of boots the pressure point occured at the same place... the right boot at the inside top two eyelets. The older boots did not have that clump-o-leather-pieces stabbing the top of this working man's foot.
Further, The boots were dyed a reddish color, not the warm golden color I love. Additionally, the grain on the boots did not match ( one boot pebbly, one boot smooth ), and therefore the reddish color was uneven between the two boots. This all adds up to poor quality control at the Domincan Republic boot factory. Shame on you Rocky Brands!
I have requested the customer service folks at the store to hand-pick my next pair to eleminate further disappointment with what was my favorite boots. If I recieve a poor quality product from Georgia one more time I will switch brands and pay slightly more for an American Boot with wedge soles, such as Thorogood Boots.
There is no excuse to accept poor quality.
“Thank you, I received my boots on Friday. All is good. We will be doing more business in the future. My local boot store jerked me around for 3 weeks waiting on these, buy you got them to me in 1 week! Not bad! Thanks!
”Jim B. from Thomaston, Connecticut
