The Helly Hansen 06225 FR Jacket provides you protection against flame along with a good dose of healthy warmth. After all, you don't want to fight the weather in addition to any crisis conflagration.
The flame-resistant capacity of this jacket meets the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials, and is due to the Zirpro-treated 80%wool/20%polyester fabric blend. First, wool itself is regarded as a naturally flame-resistant fiber. (How many flaming sheep have you seen?) But what is this Zirpro treatment, you say? Glad you asked. It uses molecular complexes made from zirconium to bond with the fabric. (Yes, that's related to that flashy cubic zirconia jewelry, but we don't advise giving this jacket as an anniversary present, or things will really get hot.) Now, should the wool burn, instead of forming a fine ash, it forms a thin layer of charcoal which greatly reduces thermal conductivity. This means two things-you've got more non-pain time to take emergency measures at the very least, or, the flame goes out anyway because not enough heat is transferred to the inner material.
Keeping warm in a chilly environment is achieved with Helly Hansen's patented W-Pile FibreLock construction system. The deal here is the way the wool fibers are anchored to the backing using a loose cut/loop knitting technique so the pile can be double-sided, providing even more volume and insulation without increasing weight. The FibreLock system creates elastic knits with extreme durability, making the Helly Hansen 06225 Jacket a long- lasting garment which is very comfortable to wear. Keeping out the chill continues with ribbed sleeve cuffs and waist, and a pile flap behind the zipper.
