These attractive black boots are made of what Keen calls "abrasion-resistant tough-tech leather." The uppers of these 6"-boots are made of a waterproof Nubuck. Unlike what you may think, Nubuck isn't a type of leather--its a treatment done to the grain side of leather. That's the strongest side of the cow hide. A Nubuck finish can look like suede, but it provides more strength in a soft and flexible material. These boots are made of naturally oil, water, and stain resistant leather.
The steel-toe design is anatomically correct and provides a roomier toe box. These boots meet ASTM F2412-05 and F2413-05 I/75 and C/75 standards.
Six-Inch Tacoma boots with steel toes are strong, waterproof and versatile. They utilize Keen.Dry technology, which is a proprietary waterproof, breathable membrane that lets water vapor out without letting more water in. If you're looking to upgrade from your old construction boots, these Keens will fit the bill.
Inside, these boots offer Dry-Lex mesh lining, keeping them comfortable and easy to wear. The lining utilizes a hydrophobic/hydrophilic, 2-zone comfort technology that keeps water out, but also wicks it away from your skin.
Keen offers excellent comfort by building these boots with dual-density, compression-molded EVA midsoles. EVA plastic is soft, durable and flexible. EVA is a plastic foam that's designed to absorb impact and cushion feet. The removable footbeds, which are metatomically designed, are also made of EVA. The footbeds offer internal suport mechanisms that are anatomically engineered to support your arches and cradle the natural contours of your feet. Contoured heel locks make sure your heels are doubly comfortable by absorbing the shock of heel impact.
The non-marking soles are attached to the midsoles and uppers with Goodyear Welt Construction. Goodyear Welt construction allows you to resole your boots if you wear out the bottoms. This type of welt is very economical in the long run.
And last but not least, the rubber outsoles of these Tacomas are oil- and slip-resistant. And since they have an EH (electrical hazard) rating of ANSI Z41 PT99, you can walk confidently knowing that these Keens will keep you safe in hazard conditions with open circuits.
