In the lining, you'll appreciate that external heels and instep stability arms keep you steady and reduce foot stress. The 20% recycled EVA dual-density footbed provides comfort and support. That means that the EVA foam within the boot is soft and durable, and dual-density means it won't compress quickly.
A waterproof membrane inside these boots keeps your feet super dry. The membrane is treated with Merrell's special, Aegis antimicrobial solution, making it impermeable but breathable. For extra protection, a bellows tongue is attached to the shoe body so that ice, water and debris can't get around and into the shoe.
The Compression-molded EVA footframes you'll find inside these boots provide stability and support. Several other interior features give your feet superior comfort. Merrill air cushions in the heels of these boots absorb shock and add stability so that you're steady on your feet. 2mm EVA inSoles provide comfort and shock absorption. But these boots aren't designed for comfort only, they're healthy too--OrthoLite anatomical footbeds keep your feet centered and comfortably cushioned.
These Merrill boots use Strobel Construction to ensure that they're flexible. This construction method means that the upper is stitched at the border to a flexible woven material instead of being glued to fiberboard. From the first time you wear them, you'll notice a difference. These are more comfortable than many hiking boots on the market.
