Merrell Boots: Women's Black J55624 Waterproof Snowbound Insulated Winter Boots
The meteorologist was right. You pull the window shade up in your bedroom to see your front yard covered in a blanket of snow--a 7-inch deep blanket to be exact. You have to venture out in that winter wonderland to get to work--what boots should you reach for? We strongly suggest Merrell Women’s Black J55624 Snowbound Waterproof Insulated Boots.
What’s so great about Merrell waterproof boots? Like a luxury vehicle, they’re expertly crafted, have plenty of excellent features, and are stylishly designed.
Made of synthetic coated leather and mesh uppers, these women's Merrell boots seal out water and lets inside moisture escape so you stay dry when you’re on the move. Some winter boots do such a good job at insulating your feet that they also suffocate them, make them sweat and leave you with not so fresh smelling feet. These women's insulated boots are breathable and made to prevent odor before it starts for fresher smelling feet.
It sounds counter-intuitive, but less is more when it comes to the insulation in your Snowbound boots. You don’t need to wrap your feet in layers of thick, heavy insulation to keep them warm. The 200 gram insulation inside these black Merrell Boots are lightweight, have low bulk and provide warming insulation. The insulation used creates micro-spaces that trap body heat to surround your feet in continuous warmth.
Perhaps the main feature you’re looking for in a pair of winter boots is excellent traction. Your goal is to get through the winter months without slipping and falling and breaking a limb. Like snow tires for your car, outsoles on these Merrell boots provides excellent slip-resistant traction on wet and dry ground and over mixed terrain. The special lugs even help to release dirt and debris. If it’s your turn to shovel the walkway, the molded nylon arch shanks will come in handy as they provide arch support and reduce muscle fatigue.
Moaning and groaning won’t get your walkway shoveled any faster, and without these women's waterproof boots it won't keep your feet any dryer. To help make your job a little easier, wear a pair of Merrell Women’s Black J55624 Snowbound Insulated Waterproof Boots.

Comfortable and solid construction...
I really like these Merrell boots. First of all, the construction is solid -looks and feels heavy duty- so much so that I have been using them once temperature starting dropping to 30°F's. It definitely is COMPLETELY WATERPROOF, at least the entire bottom portion is. I have done work in snow and mud puddles, and they've kept my feet clean and dry. An added plus, the lower material seems to clean off easily -such as mud is washed off by stepping in a clear water puddle or throwing water on them. I like how the laces are hooked at the top/shin area, so when untying, lacing just "fall" out of their hooks, facilitating foot removal. They do seem to have better traction in ice and snow too. I have an attachment that I use to use on my old work boots, which was a type of "bra" that slips onto the boot that contains spikes for snow/ice treading. On this boot I have not needed the aid of those attachments. I am completely satisfied with this item with no cons that I have seen or felt yet. Seem to be true to size. I purposely ordered a half size bigger for use of 2 or 3 pairs of socks or inserts for padding. So far I did add a heel/arch insert (I prefer having my heel a bit higher than my toes -boots felt too flat footed to me) and I usually wear 2 pairs of socks. Highly recommend.
