The coat is made with 21-ounce Mackinaw wool a mid-weight wool that can absorb up to 30 percent of its own weight in water without getting damp. The coat is unlined, but with the warmth of the wool extra material isn't necessary. The cape design is created with a separate layer of wool secured over the shoulder and back of the coat.
The 6-snap front closure gets you in and out of the coat quickly. There are two snaps at each wrist to keep out the cold. The two large chest pockets and two hand-warmer pockets give you lots of options to stash your gear or cover cold hands. The slits on each hip let you get to your pant pockets easily.
