Not only is this wet weather jacket made of a waterproof nylon fabric, the exterior of the waterproof jacket has been treated with a durable water repellent (DWR) finish. DWR prevents precipitation from saturating the hooded rain jacket's exterior, helping to prevent it from becoming waterlogged and heavy.
Finishing touches such as storm cuffs (with Velcro tabs) and seams that are sealed offer an extra layer of waterproofing protection. The sealed seams help to “seal” out every drop of rain.
