The sleeveless vest may be a little impractical and dated in fashion, but it's a life-saver on a cold day at work. The Lakin McKey 35 28 Washed Saddle Brown Duck Berber Lined Vest is tough against the elements and soft against your body, locking in warmth where you need it most. And your arms? They've got to stay free, or else you can't work at all.
The brown outer shell is made with 12 ounce, 100% cotton duck. The name may make you giggle, but cotton duck is so named because it has the same water-resisting properties of a duck's back (how does the old saying go, again?). Cotton duck is the same sturdy stuff used to make canvas sails on boats, because it's so tough against the elements. But natural cotton is also flexible and soft when it's wrapped around your body.
The fabric has been hand-washed and brushed before it comes to you, so it's already soft and supple. Thanks to the pre-washing, the vest will shrink less in the dryer. Inside, Berber lining has been woven with a loop-style pile that feels soft and cushioning against your body. Just close the heavy-duty front zipper to wrap the insulating warmth around yourself.
Two interior storage pockets and the fleece-lined hand-warmer pockets provide storage space for your odds and ends. Rivets, extra stitches, have been placed at all stress points to add to the durability of the design.
